Recertification

Continue Certification Requisites

Earning your certification is a big progress. Maintaining it shouldn’t have to be difficult. GBMI's Continuing Certification Requisite (CCR) Program is designed to let you grow and to develop advance skills that organizations are needed — all the while maintaining your certification status.

What are CDUs?

Career Development Units (CDUs) are at least a 8-hour blocks of time that you spend learning, teaching others, or volunteering. By accumulating and tracking these over a two-year period you can maintain your certification status with GBMI. View how you can earn CDUs and how to align them to the GBMI Talents.

Recertification Checklist:

  1. Obtain the required number of CDUs during your recertification cycle
for each credential (at least 80% of required CDUs for each credential
must be related to one of GBMI’s specified GBMI domains).

  2. Complete your mandatory annual coding self-reviews (self-assessments), if applicable.

  3. Participate in accepted and qualified CDUs activities.

  4. Enter your CDUs on time.

  5. Document your CDUs activity for auditing.

  6. Ensure your recertification fee is paid.

This ten minute video reviews the GBMI CDUs Center in depth with information on how to navigate it and track your CCU recertification requirements for each cycle as well as provides a refresher on current CDUs recertification policies for ABIDI credential holders.
